Gwendolyne Maxine Stacy, better known as Spider-Gwen or Ghost-Spider, is a superhero from the alternate reality of Earth-65. She was the first female Spider-Woman to become a regular character in the Marvel universe and is also popular for her feminist perspective. She debuted in the 2014 comic book storyline Edge of Spider-Verse, which led to her ongoing series.
Gwen is a science student at Horizon High School and best friends with Anya Corazon, a fellow geneticist. She was inspired by her late uncle Raymond Warren to pursue a career in genetic engineering and developed her own DNA formulas. As a result, she is gifted with amazing powers and adopts the Spider-Man costume sans mask. She subsequently develops an alternate identity and goes by the name of Ghost-Spider after gaining a translucent body.
During the Spider-Verse storyline, Gwen realizes that most of her counterparts across the multiverse are dead, including her version from Earth-616. She joins Miles Morales and his group of Spider-Totems to fight the vampire vampiric Morlun and the Inheritors. Gwen is often seen wearing a white and pink outfit and wielding her signature web-patterned glove.
